Chess Guideline Step by Step

What is Chess?

Garry Kimovich Kasparov. The best grandmasters in the world. Former world champion. Kasparov was number one in the ranking for 21 consecutive years from 1984. This Russian star retired from professional chess in 2005. In 1985, Kasparov became the youngest chess player to become the world chess champion. He also holds the record for most consecutive tournament wins.

Chess is said to be the most popular board game in the world. People all over the world have been playing chess for ages. It can be called a battle war game. Two-player chess, where you and your opponent both control two armies of the same type. If you can use your troops better than your opponent, you can win.

So we understand that there are two teams in this game. One team has white color pieces and the other team has black color pieces. There is no such thing as the knuckles having to be completely white and black. Light-coloured knobs are assumed to be white and dark-coloured knobs are assumed to be black.

So when there are armies, they need a battlefield to fight, right? The chessboard is the battlefield. It is a square board with 64 small squares in 8×8 format inside the board. That is, there are eight cells in each row and column. The houses are white and black like chess pieces. If one cell is white, then the next cell is black. This is how the squares of the chess board are arranged. Then there are 32 white and black cells on the board. Whoever plays with the white piece, the rightmost corner cell of his hand should be white, this should be noted at the beginning of the game.

Chess pieces must always be arranged in a certain order on the board at the beginning of the game. This means that at the beginning of the game, which pieces will be in which square is specified. So at the beginning of the game, the chess pieces should be arranged in such a way to start the game.

In chess one after another has to continue the game with moves. In this case, the one who takes the white piece will be a little ahead at the beginning of the game. Because, according to the rule, the first move will given with the white piece. At the beginning of the game, the toss is used to determine who will play which piece. One can never make two moves in a row or go without making a move. That is, when it is his turn to give a move, then he must give a move.

Each chess move is different. That is, different types of pieces move differently from one room of the board to another. To make a move, a piece must be picked up from the board and placed in another room on the board. While giving move, remember that one can never move one’s own piece to a room where another piece of yours is already standing. You can take your piece to any empty space on the board or to any of your opponent’s piece spaces. In this case, the rule is, that if you take any piece in any opponent’s piece room, his piece will be captured. It’s like one soldier beating another soldier on the battlefield.

In this game, a chess player’s main goal is to checkmate the opponent king. In other words, capturing your opponent’s king is the same as capturing your opponent’s other piece. The only difference is that the king is not allowed to be captured in the game, when one side’s king is attacked by an opponent piece and there is no way to escape, the other side player is declared the winner. But sometimes there are situations when neither side can checkmate the other side’s king. The match is then called a draw. Games between great chess players are often drawn.

So what we need to remember:

  • At the start of the game, the board should be placed in such a way that the rightmost corner of the player’s hand is white.
  • White must always start the game with the first move and then move one after the other. You have to move during your move, that is, you cannot say ‘pass’.
  • At the start of the game, each piece will be arranged in the same way on the board. Remember white queen will stay on a white square and the black queen will stay on a black square at the start.
  • When you capture an opponent’s piece or pawn, that piece or pawn is removed from the board and that piece/pawn can no longer participate in the game.
  • The main target of the game is to ‘checkmate’ the opponent’s king. But sometimes the game can be a draw.
