Chess Guideline Step by Step

Checkmate by King & Queen

Let’s learn how to deal only the king with the king and the Queen.

Those who have been playing chess for a while may know how to deal with the king and Queen, so you won’t learn much from this lecture, but if you are a new player, you should learn this deal. Otherwise, you won’t be able to win many winning games. After reading the lecture, practice a few times with a friend or by yourself. If you learn this time, don’t forget it for the rest of your life.

Sometimes at the end of a very long game, only one side has a king. On the other side are the king and the Queen. The Queen is very powerful, so the side that has the Queen is in a better position, but the position is not enough to win the game by itself. To win, you have to know how to deal with your opponent’s king. You can’t win even with a lot of power if you can’t deal. So learning to make checkmate is very important.

Even though the Queen is very powerful, he cannot do the instalments alone. You have to learn to use the king and the Queen together to play the opponent. Let’s learn step by step.

Checkmate with the king and Queen can be done in many ways. Below are some examples of what the simplest instalments might look like.

If the king is on the edge of the board:

Two possible moves by the Queen to make checkmate are shown. Besides, it is also possible to make checkmate with other moves. Think, you will get the answer easily.

We can learn an important thing from the picture above. It is very easy to confine the black king to one end of the board to settle.

See the next picture:

If the king is in the middle of the board:

The black king is not at the edge of the board but in the middle. Try to easily checkmate the king in this situation. You will see that there is no easy way. somewhat difficult.

Then we know that to checkmate the black king, we have to move it to one end of the board. But how to take the king to one end?

There is no profit in giving checks again and again, it is better to slowly take away one square from the black king. Little by little the black king will reach the edge of the board.

How to do it will be taught below.

It is very easy to push the black king to one side with just the queen. I am teaching the method here. Place the queen as safely as possible in the middle of the board as far from the black king as possible, and after the black king has moved to a new room, place the queen again at a distance from the knight.

See the picture below:

In this, the black king is trapped within a small board (green wall). And we will gradually make this green wall smaller. For example,

1…Kd5 2.Qb4!

2…Kc6 3.Qd4!

or

2…Ke5 3.Qc4!

Thus, at some point, the black king will move to the very edge. And Queen will be in the second row from the end.

For example:

Now the second phase will begin. Now the white king needs help to checkmate. Bring the white king closer to the black king from the other side of the board. At this time, the black king has nothing to do but move repeatedly between the two corners of the corner.

If the king is brought, the situation will be like this:

Now checkmate.
